Troy Ross, MD, MPH

Medical Director Brain Health Restoration

Dr. Zavala has over 20 years of experience as a hospitalist, providing inpatient hospital-based care. He has served as Chief of Medicine at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center and Renown Regional Health System. He is currently an Adjunct Instructor of Internal Medicine at Touro University Nevada for the Physician Assistant Program. He also teaches at the University of Nevada School of Medicine. Dr. Zavala is Internal Medicine trained and Board Certified in Ringside Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences, interned at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, and completed a fellowship in Hospital Medicine. Currently, he holds memberships in the American College of Physicians – American Society of Internal Medicine, Society of Hospitalist Medicine, American Osteopathic Association, American Medical Association, Nevada Osteopathic Medical Association and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Troy Ross, MD, MPH trained in Preventive Medicine and specializes in the field of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. He attended the Military’s medical school, USUHS, in Bethesda, MD. He had a 30-year career in the US Army, serving in positions of combat unit flight surgeon, medical center chief of public health, and preventive medicine/emergency medicine physician deployed in Iraq. He retired from the Army in October of 2016 in order to establish a practice in his northern Nevada home. He is excited to be working with the Brain Health Restoration Center to improve the health of members of the community using our unique brain optimization technology. In addition, Dr. Ross practices occupational medicine and is involved in health improvement through the use of nutritional therapeutics.

Ashley Maestas DO

Psychiatrist

Dr. Ashley Maestas is a psychiatry resident at the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Western University of Health Sciences COMP-NW. Her professional interests involve health equity, psychosocial determinants of health, Interventional and Forensic Psychiatry. She currently holds professional memberships in American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law, American Psychiatric Association, and Nevada Psychiatric Association.

Clinical Director of Operations

Lindsey has been with our clinical team since summer of 2022. She is responsible for all administrative and management functions, operations, and compliance for Cerecare/ Brain Health Restoration. Lindsey comes from a medical background in dermatopathology with 15 years’ experience in clinical operations and management, accounting, taxes and licensure, document and policy specialist, state and federal compliance, employee management/ human relations, and holds a medical license in the State of Nevada with an expertise in pathologic tissue diagnostic testing and immunohistochemistry. She was known for the youngest licensed professional in this field in the State of Nevada at age 21. Congruent with her medical background, Lindsey has more than 10 years’ experience in business management in the insurance industry, contracting & high-end design, specializing in client relations, account and project management, data and analytics, financial classification and records, document specialist, taxes and licensing, human resources/employee relations, sales and marketing and has recently expanded into clinical underwriting for medical malpractice as of Spring 2022. Her background in insurance/reinsurance affords her a widespread knowledge of the medical industry from the other side which is certainly an advantage in her role as Clinical Director of Operations.

Nino Pedrini

Chief Executive Officer

Nino Pedrini has over 45 years of diverse industry experience, with proven accomplishments in formulating the vision and structure of successful companies. He is also an Owner, Chief Operating Officer and Managing Partner who has been recognized as a results oriented leader and for his entrepreneurial vision and spirit. Prior to forming Brain Health Restoration, Nino, who also leads the Capstone Group of Companies, was affiliated with Duncanson & Holt, a New York-based reinsurance managing underwriting firm, that specialized in life, accident/health, property/casualty, marine and aviation. From 1982 to present, he and business partner Bob Baratta co-founded and have operated the Capstone Group of Companies. Together, they were responsible for forming the first self-funded Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) health programs nationally. As lead reinsurer, they initiated and supported programs for managing general agents, managing general underwriters, insurance carriers, third-party administrators and other reinsurers nationally. They built a national managing general underwriting firm, which developed and managed over $100 million of revenue. Additionally, they created the first long-term care specialty company that provided actuarial, underwriting and consulting services to the insurance industry, all while developing products for entry-level carriers and providers, which resulted in managing over $500 million dollars of long-term care premiums. Nino has a proven record of accomplishments in formulating management strategies and objectives specific to managing underwriting, overall administration and reinsurance risk pool management. He has been responsible for all marketing and strategies, both nationally and internationally; he has been instrumental in product development and enhancement, administrative systems, and development of overall corporate management and infrastructures. He has been instrumental in creating cross-functional initiatives to achieve corporate goals, consistently demonstrating competency in leadership, management, strategic planning and execution, marketing and profit optimization. Nino has also spearheaded mergers, acquisitions and their associated integrations, and he has repeatedly created strategic measures with organization leaders to effectively align with and support key business initiatives – all while building and retaining high-performance teams.

Bob Baratta

Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer of Brain Health Restoration, Bob Baratta brings a proven record of accomplishments with more than 55 years in all areas of the insurance and reinsurance industries. In formulating the vision and structure of successful companies, he has been instrumental in the development of marketing strategies and product development. He has also been involved with enhancing administrative systems, including the development of overall corporate management and infrastructures. Bob began working in the insurance industry in Chicago at Continental Casualty Company as an agent in their division for special risk. Later, he joined American Home Assurance Company (AIG), serving as the Chicago Branch Manager and finally National Sales Manager out of the home office in New York City. While in New York with AIG, Bob was contacted by the owner of newly formed Duncanson & Holt, the American Accident Reinsurance Group, to become their fifth employee and to expand their facility west of the Mississippi. While at Duncanson & Holt, he was a shareholder and held positions as San Francisco Branch Manager, Western Regional Manager and Senior Vice President overseeing national sales. From 1982 to present, he and his business partner Nino Pedrini co-founded the Capstone Group Companies, which is the parent company of Brain Health Restoration. Walter “Del” A. Marting

Chief Operating Officer

Del Marting brings entrepreneurial vision, investment expertise and healthcare innovation experience to his role as Chief Operating Officer of Brain Health Restoration. Del was a principal and Chief Financial Officer at hCell Technology, Inc., a Reno-based biotechnology firm engaged in the in-vitro cultivation of pancreatic islet cells to aid in the treatment of Type 1 diabetes. In 1992, he co-founded the Transdigital Communications Corp., a California-based manufacturer of digital systems for in-flight communications and entertainment applications, where he successfully raised the capital for the firm and oversaw all financial, accounting and treasury functions at the company. Earlier in his career, he was a principal at the investment-banking firm of L.J. Kaufman and Co. in Los Angeles, leading the group’s efforts in financing aviation equipment and aerospace firms, as well as mental health care facilities. Del began his career in the mining industry, holding senior management positions, both in the United States and in Europe, at Amax, Inc., where he served as Chief Financial Officer for Amax Europe. He received a bachelor’s degree from Yale University in 1969 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1975 and served in the US Navy with SEAL Team Two from 1970 to 1973. Currently, Del is also a Senior Advisor to the Beijing-based merchant banking firm JFP Holdings, Ltd. and is the founder of M and M Advisors, Inc., a privately held company providing investment banking and financial advisory services to early-stage companies in Nevada and California since 2001.

Dr. Zayn Hassan

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Zayn Hassan specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation after training at Jackson Health Systems/University of Miami/Miami VA after graduating from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. His current focus is in the field of integrative psychiatry, particularly in the field of psychedelic therapies. His goal is to translate clinical research and apply an analytical framework to help providers drive better patient outcomes through technology and data science. He is a member of the American Society of Ketamine Physicians, Ketamine Psychotherapy Associates, Integrative Psychiatric Institute Fellowship Program, Psychedelic Assisted Therapy Program (IPI), and Ketamine Training Center. He strives to attain truly transformative and sustainable changes that promote overall brain health and mental wellness. In 2020, He transitioned My ketamine road, a comprehensive wellness center in miami, FL to my ketamine home, a telemedicine at home ketamine program to address the COVID pandemic. In 2021, He co-founded Nue Life health, a public benefits corporation, to build digital tools for patients and medical providers To offer high quality integration and aftercare. Presently, he serves as medical director for brain health restoration, a National integrated mental wellness clinic network that offers MeRT(magnetic electro-resonance therapy), a personalized TMS protocol in combination with psychedelics including ketamine. The mission of brain health restoration is to develop personalized high quality clinical programs and collect data on patient outcomes so that patients, clinicians, and insurers can make better decisions in the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma and addiction.
